Images from the Mundane

While relaxing outside on a deck in the sunshine yesterday, I began looking around at the sunlight and shadows a few feet from where I was sitting and began noticing some  textures and patterns that I felt might make make for some interesting photos out of an otherwise mundane scene. That is what I love about photography. There is often something right before you worth shooting if you look for it.

Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge and Dallas Skyline

This is a picture of the Margaret Hunt Hill and Dallas Skyline I took around sunset in October 2015 The composition felt good, but the colors always felt off and distracting. Although I worked on it several times over the years, the results were always unsatisfying. Black & White monochrome did not capture the mood of the scene. Finally, I went with what you see here and am happy after all this time to post a version of that shot from years ago that I feel works!
